We believe good financial tools should strengthen communities, not push them into business-first ways of thinking. That means keeping Good Numbers affordable, practical and focused on the needs of small non-profits.

Good Numbers is proudly inclusive. We support organisations working across Aotearoa’s diverse communities, including rainbow, disability, migrant, faith, arts, environmental, kaupapa Māori, Pasefika, youth, neighbourhood and grassroots groups.

Good Numbers has grown out of many years of working, volunteering and serving in community organisations. We know that good financial systems are not just about compliance. They are about trust, care, shared responsibility and keeping the mahi moving.

Money can feel intimidating, especially for volunteer treasurers and people new to financial reporting. We aim to make things clearer, calmer and easier to understand.
For us, good financial reporting is not about making money for its own sake. It is about helping organisations understand their resources, make good decisions, and keep uplifting their communities.

We want Good Numbers to feel warm, practical and easy to work with.
Whether someone is using the app, reading a guide, joining a course, or getting help with year-end reporting, we want the experience to feel calm, friendly and respectful. We are serious about supporting community organisations, but we also believe in warmth, humour, generosity and making the money side of the mahi feel lighter where we can.

We are still small and growing, but our direction is clear.
As Good Numbers develops, we want to become a business that gives back more than it takes. Our long-term goals include becoming formally recognised as a purpose-led business, such as through B Corp certification, and returning the majority of profits back into community benefit.
We are not there yet. But these values are already shaping the choices we make: how we price our tools, who we design for, what we prioritise, and how we show up in the sector.
Good Numbers is for people who believe that community organisations deserve tools built with care and purpose.
