We collect this information in the following circumstances:

  • When you complete a form on our website;
  • When you access one of our services via web interface or app;
  • During communications (such as email) with us;
  • When you use our services or request support;

We will usually only collect Personal Information directly from you.

Good Numbers collects and uses information to:

  • Generate and support the preparation of financial statements, reporting and analysis;
  • Provide user support;
  • Conduct anonymised analysis to enhance our services and website design;
  • Respond to questions or correspondence from you;
  • Provide you with information about a service you are using;

We only collect and use Personal Information for purposes connected to our legitimate activities as a service provider.

Storage and Access

All information is stored securely on servers located in New Zealand or Australia.
Access is restricted to authorised Good Numbers staff and contractors who require it for legitimate operational purposes and are bound by confidentiality obligations.

If any information is processed or stored outside New Zealand (for example, through Akahu or our hosting providers), Good Numbers takes reasonable steps to ensure it is protected to a standard consistent with the Privacy Act 2020.

We will not disclose your personal information to third parties except:

  • As required by law; or

We do not sell or rent personal information to any third party.

Data Retention

We retain personal and organisational information for up to 12 months after your last use of our services, unless required longer for legal, security, or troubleshooting purposes.
After this time, information may be securely deleted or anonymised.

Access and Correction

You have the right to request access to, and correction of, any personal information we hold about you.
To make a request, please contact us.

Privacy Breaches

In the event of a privacy breach that poses a risk of harm, Good Numbers will:

  • Notify affected users as soon as practicable; and
  • Report the breach to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner, as required by law.

Third-Party Integrations

Good Numbers integrates with carefully selected third-party providers to deliver our services. These providers may collect limited personal information directly from you in order to perform their role — for example, to verify your identity or to access data you have authorised them to share.

Except as described in this Privacy Policy, Good Numbers does not collect or store this information.

For instance, when you connect a bank account through Akahu, you provide your bank login credentials (such as your username and password) directly to Akahu. Good Numbers never sees or stores your banking credentials. Akahu securely retrieves only the financial data that you have consented to share and provides that data to Good Numbers for use within our sevices.

All third-party providers used by Good Numbers are required to handle your information securely and in compliance with New Zealand privacy standards.

Users who connect their bank accounts via Akahu are also bound by Akahu’s own privacy policy: https://www.akahu.nz/privacy-notice-oneoff-consent
