Funding View changes how small non-profits track grants. When funding comes in, create a Funding View.
As you spend, tag payments to it, make notes and upload receipts.
Your App shows:
When it’s time to report back, generate a clear funding report in minutes.
In this guide:
You can create a new Funding view from any grant, contract payment or donation received.
Once a transaction is categorised into one of these three categories:

The option to create a new Funding view will display:

Note: If you have already assigned a funding view to this transaction, you'll need to change the drop-down to none before the create new funding view option will display.
Next, enter the name you'd like to use for the Funding view. We recommend something simple and identifying, such as who the money came from or its purpose, and the date received.

Click Save, and the new Funding view will be created, and this money in the transaction will be linked to it.

You must assign a category to a transaction before it can be linked to a Funding view. Each transaction can only be linked to one Funding view.
Once the category is selected, the Funding view drop-down appears:

Once selected, the transaction is linked to the Funding view. There is no 'Save' or equivalent button needed.
Simply return to the transaction and select your preferred Funding view, or 'None' from the drop-down.

Note: It may not be possible to change the funding view on a transaction after year-end statements that include the transaction have been finalised, or when the linked Funding view has been closed. This is for data and financial reporting integrity purposes.
The remaining balance in a Funding view subtracts all payments from all money in linked transactions:

Clicking 'Generate report' lets you create a report suitable for inclusion in your reporting back to funders, providing an update on grant expenditure to your board/committee, or even reporting back to a generous donor.

When generating the report, you have the option to include copies of the receipts you have attached to linked transactions and the notes you have written in them to include in the report. Tick or untick these as preferred.
The report will be generated as a PDF and emailed to you. (It can take 60 seconds!). Click to see an example report.
Close a funding view when you have fulfilled the requirements of money received. For example, submitting a report to a funder. Once you close it, the Funding view will no longer show up:
However, you can still generate the funding overview report at any time, and it will be included in your year-end financial statements if relevant.

You can only delete a Funding view once no transactions are linked to it. This requires you to manually select 'None' for every transaction currently linked to the funding view.
This process is deliberate as deleting a Funding view should only be done in exceptional circumstances, not as part of your everyday bookkeeping.
Once a funding view has no linked transactions, the delete option will become available to click:

CAUTION: It is not possible to restore or undelete a funding view once it has been deleted.
