Getting Started on the Good Numbers App

Head over to the login screen and enter the email address you'd like to use for the Good Numbers app. Note, you can onboard on either desktop, laptop, tablet or mobile. The screenshots below are taken on a desktop for simplicity.

Click Get verification code.

You'll receive an email asking you to confirm your email address and confirm your sign up to the Good Numbers app.

Copy the 6 digit sign-in code.

Head back to the window you entered your email address in, and enter the 6 digit verification code.

Click Verify code.

As this is your first time in the app, you'll be asked to agree to the Good Numbers Service Agreement. The version displayed here is a plain English version of the agreement. However, you can click the purple link to read the full Good Numbers Service Agreement.

You must agree to the service agreement in order to proceed and use the app.

Next, we'll ask you for a few details about you and your organisation. We already have your email address, so the only mandatory fields are first and last name, plus your organisation name.

The other fields are optional; however, they may help us match your organisation to data on the Charities Register or other registrars if needed.

Next, you'll be asked to connect your bank accounts using Akahu. Akahu provides a connection to all major banks and other financial institutions in Aotearoa. They are a safe and secure way for Good Numbers to retrieve your transaction information automatically each day.

There are several screens you'll need to click through with Akahu to confirm that you grant access to the Good Numbers App. You'll need to agree to these in order to use the Good Numbers App.

Akahu will send a separate verification code to your email. By default, Akahu will use the same email address as you signed up with to the Good Numbers app.

Next, click on your bank to begin connecting your organisation's bank account. For the purposes of this guide, I've used the demo bank, which is not a real bank. Please use your real bank and not the demo bank (the Demo Bank option is only visible during our pilot).

From here, the steps you go through will depend on the bank you are with and how Akahu is integrated with it.

Either:

• You will be prompted to enter your username, password and two-factor authentication code directly with Akahu, or
• You'll be prompted to accept a data sharing request through your mobile banking app.

For example, with Kiwibank, you'll log in directly in your browser. But with ANZ, ASB, BNZ, and Westpac, you'll need to open your mobile banking app to approve a data sharing request.

No matter the flow you go through, you'll end up at a screen listing the bank accounts you can share with Good Numbers. These might include your personal accounts alongside the organisation's accounts. You only need to select the organisation account(s) that you would like to share with Good Numbers and leave your other accounts unselected.

Once selected, you'll end up at a summary screen of the information Akahu is going to share with Good Numbers. Once happy, click Confirm connections. Or, if you have bank accounts at another bank, you can select Add another connection to repeat the flow and connect more bank accounts.

Confirm connections will send you back to Good Numbers. Once you see the Good Numbers dashboard, your onboarding is complete. During this pilot period, Duncan and his team need to do a bit of work behind the scenes to finish onboarding your organisation, and will be in touch once your app is fully set up and ready to go.
